Williams Subaru Loves Pets & Our Friends at Union County Humane

Subaru has enabled us to form some very special partnerships that allow us to not only form lasting friendships, but most importantly to help others in need. Our partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, is near and dear to our hearts and they are our Share the Love hometown charity. They are a very large operation with a huge distribution center that supplies 19 counties in North Carolina with much needed food and grocery items to assist those in need. Our GSM Shawn is very active in the rescue community and the Humane Society of Union County President Deb Zappa let Shawn know that they were really struggling with donations. Primarily they needed cat food and kitty litter donations. The Humane Society of Union County not only rescues dogs and cats they are very proactive in our community. They also run a small food pantry for residents that need help feeding their pets, which in turn keeps more pets out of the shelter and off the streets. Shawn reached out to our Donor Relations & Special Events coordinator, Donna Ragan and asked if they had any cat food available. Donna immediately went to work finding out if they had any pet food to spare and let me know they could help. Service and Parts Director Mike Melton, Shawn and IT special Rob Martinson hooked up Mike’s trailer and away we went to Second Harvest and they had FOUR pallets of pet food, and supplies. She not only had cat food and litter, but also dog food and an entire pallet of miscellaneous pet items. We delivered around 3,000 pounds of much needed food and supplies. The Humane Society had volunteers waiting to help us unload when we arrived. It was a great day to be a Subaru dealer and know that the relationships and partnerships made in our community make a difference. That to us is everything!!!
